Joe Hautman's painting of a drake mallard has been selected as the design for the 2006 Minnesota Duck Stamp. The artist is a two-time Federal Duck Stamp winner. His victory in the highly competitive Minnesota contest adds to a list of winners which includes some of the nation's most prestigious wildlife artists, including seven other Federal-winning artists. This is a classic portrait of the quintessential American waterfowl. It is the first time that a mallard has been represented on the Minnesota stamp since the introductory design in 1977.
The 2006 Minnesota Duck Stamp print is printed on premium archival paper using fade-resistant inks.
